It's been a while since I have written on this blog, but after doing some recent reading, I wanted to share an idea. I am in the process of reading 31 Days to Clean. It has some good ideas, and one of them was actually not original to the author, but is a great help. It is a 6 things list. You can work it however you like, but when I first started doing it I wrote down 6 things to get done during the day and I would cross them off. Just having the list be 6 things makes it less intimidating then listing everything that has to be done by the end of the week, and it helps you get things done. You really should do the list the night before or you will already be behind when you wake up. Today I decided to make my 6 things list a little more set in stone but flexible at the same time.It shows Saturday as a day off, but really my day off will depend on the day my husband has off at work. I hope this helps others who struggle with being organized with a cleaning schedule as I do. Here's what I came up with:
Just 6 Things a Day
Monday-
1. Articles for the day
2. Dishes/Sweep kitchen
3. Laundry
4. Vacuum downstairs/water plants
5. Dust downstairs
6. Organize kitchen
Tuesday-
1. Articles for the day
2. Dishes
3. Laundry
4. Clean Bathroom (wash rug)
5. Sweep and mop kitchen and bathroom floors
6. Organize living room
Wednesday-
1. Articles for the day
2. Dishes/Sweep Kitchen
3. Laundry
4. Clean and organize bedrooms (wash sheets)
5. Vacuum upstairs
6. Dust bedrooms
Thursday-
1. Articles for the day
2. Dishes/Sweep Kitchen
3. Laundry
4. Clean and organize living room/water plants
5. Vacuum and dust living room
6. Do something creative
Friday-
1. Articles for the day
2. Dishes/Sweep Kitchen
3. Kid’s Laundry/organize kid’s drawers
4. Vacuum furniture
5. Shred
6. Downsize unused items
Saturday- variable day off
Sunday- rest
